A new report, “Hedge Fund Performance in 2007,” has been published by EDHEC’s Risk and Asset Management Centre. (EDHEC is a French business school.)

It discusses the performance of the primary hedge fund strategies last year, and even includes a paragraph on funds-of-funds performance, as well as providing some recent and long-term return statistics.

EDHEC attributes 85.5% of the variance in fund returns to asset allocation. This result is in line with the literature and our own analyses, though we wonder why EDHEC hasn’t updated its numbers in six years.

Néanmoins, en dépit de cette faille it’s free for the taking. ♦
