A colleague of ours is getting into the alternative investments business. He asked us if we had a list of Internet sites or other resources relevant to tracking the hedge fund and private equity industries. Indeed we do have. We compiled the following list, together with our brief description of each site, and decided to share it with our readers.

Note that most of these sites are targeted at accredited investors and as such, require not only registration, but accreditation. Basically, if your net worth exceeds $1 million, or you had net income of $200,000 for each of the last two years ($300,000 with your spouse), you may qualify as an accredited investor — and thus be eligible to invest in hedge and private equity funds.
